Open the door to a hardwood entry brightened by natural light. An arched window above the door makes this a pretty place from which to come and go. Wipe your feet, hang your jacket in the coat closet and make yourself at home. As you see here, the laundry room stands to one side, and the front sitting room opens to the other side.
Front Room
This freshly painted front room is just inside the door on the right. With its large arched window, it makes a lovely formal sitting room, or a comfortable reading room, or hobby space. If you prefer to keep the tv outside the main living room, you could also make this your place for watching movies, the news, and favorite shows, so the fireside living room can be screen-free. It’s all up to you. (Or, it’s all up to you and the person you may live with. Either way, we leave it in your capable hands.)
Eat-in Kitchen
Besides offering more cupboard space, the kitchen island is an additional food prep surface, and stools at the bar counter are a good place to sit your friends down to visit if you still have a few things to do in the kitchen.
Before moving farther into the house, let's stop in the kitchen. This may be our favorite room. Skylights brighten this spacious eat-in kitchen with its wooden cabinets, tile backsplash, tile counter trim, and newer appliances. A brand new dishwasher on the way!
The corner of the kitchen where your table and chairs or dinette will go is decorated with a cottage garden mural featuring hollyhocks, sunflowers, larkspur, foxglove, tulips, and roses.
There's a really good amount of storage as you can see as you look around. You’ll find all the usual cabinetry above and below the counter, but there’s also the cupboards under the kitchen island, the built-in desk area (where you can sort mail, organize bills, write letters, or use it as a buffet top for setting out your serving dishes at mealtime), and the pantry.
Speaking of that, the pantry closet gives you space to stock up on food, store pet food, and stash extra appliances like rice cookers, ice cream makers, and waffle irons. There’s a light fixture inside, so you can see what you’re doing—even if that’s reaching for a midnight snack.
Dining Area
Set up your dining area under the suspended light fixture; there's plenty of room for a good table for hosting. The dining area is just outside the kitchen, so it’s easy to carry dishes back and forth. Notice the high, vaulted ceilings and the cozy gas fireplace beyond. You'll also see some built-in cupboards at the start of the hallway, an excellent place for linens, games, puzzles, and supplies of any kind.
Living Room
Bring your bookshelves, recliners, loveseat, or sectional. Add area rugs for color and prepare to be comfortable. The gas fireplace with its classic white mantelpiece invites you to settle in with a good book or a good friend. A row of east windows look out to the yard and garden hedge. South-facing sliding glass doors open to the covered deck.
The living room is open to the dining space, which connects easily to the kitchen. The arrangement is practical for daily life and nice for hosting too. There’s room for a group to gather, and people can spread out between seating areas from the kitchen to the living room without being disconnected from each other. It’s airy and open, but everything has its place.
Primary Suite with 3/4 Bath & Walk-in Closet
Take the hallway past the kitchen to arrive at the primary suite complete with a freshly painted bedroom, private 3/4 bath, and walk-in closet. A door leads directly from the bedroom to the covered deck, so fresh air is just a few steps away in the morning.
The private 3/4 bath offers a long vanity with double sinks, tile backsplash, good lighting, a large mirror, and so much storage in the drawers and cupboards below the sink and in the tall hutch beyond. The toilet is separated from the rest of the bath in its own private water closet.
A sliding door opens to the spacious shower, long enough to accommodate a bath tub (but there's one out in the full bath if you really want a soak). There's an easy-to-clean shower surround in simple white, and privacy glass in the bathroom window.
A walk-in closet with a good variety of shelves and rods will help keep your clothes and shoes organized and hanging right where you want them.
2nd Bedroom
Step back out into the hallway for the 2nd bedroom. On the west side of the house, this bedroom with its generous closet is perfect for guests, or could be set up as a craft space, exercise room, or anything else you dream up.
Full Bath
A full bath waits right across the hall from the 2nd bedroom. Easily accessible from the kitchen and living space, this is the room friends and guests can use when they come for a visit. Even if you don't host often, it's really convenient to have just one more spot to shower and a place for a hot bath.
Laundry Room
Find the laundry room immediately on your left when you come in through the front door. It’s all set to go with a washer and dryer. This is another room with a surprising amount of cabinet storage; notice there’s counter space on both sides of the room with cabinets above and below. A utility sink set into the countertop completes the laundry, which is also the connection point to the 2-car garage.

A paved driveway leads to the attached 2-car garage with its automatic door, convenient shelving, and entrance to the home through the laundry room.
This home stands on a corner lot with a fully enclosed yard on the east side of the home. The fence and hedge create a private feeling and they also make life with a pet easier too. There's a small lawn space, landscaped beds, and a stepping stone pathway leading to the deck. With cover from rain the deck is a great place for an outdoor dining table, bbq, or some lounge chairs.
